CCD Vision Cup Heat Transfer Solution

An automated cup-decoration route that combines indexed handling, CCD vision positioning, heat transfer and finished-part discharge.

Production requirements

Cup graphics must be transferred at a repeatable position even when incoming parts have orientation variation. The solution uses vision feedback before the transfer station.

Process

  1. 01

    Feed cups into the indexed handling path.

  2. 02

    Acquire the cup position with the CCD vision unit.

  3. 03

    Correct the cup orientation at the positioning station.

  4. 04

    Apply heat transfer film with the heated silicone roller.

  5. 05

    Release and discharge the decorated cup.

Commissioning

Checks before the first article

  • Confirm the cup fixture, datum and free movement through each indexed station before automatic operation.
  • Check that the vision feature remains visible under normal cup reflection and position variation.
  • Trace the film through unwinding, registration, roller contact and rewinding with stable tension.

Why is CCD vision used?

It provides position feedback so the cup can be rotated to the required print orientation before transfer.

Can different cups use the same line?

Changeover can be evaluated after cup geometry, fixture, vision feature and film requirements are compared.

Is a sample test required?

Yes. A sample test is used to confirm vision contrast, fixture stability and transfer quality.
